On the title-page spread, a diverse group of children and their families enter a building hung with a large banner proclaiming “Christmas Pageant.” The rest of the book presents the traditional play as it unfolds on stage. The narration offers a simply worded version of the biblical story, following Mary and Joseph through Bethlehem to the stable where the child is born. Angels appear to the shepherds, who make their way to the stable, followed by the wise men. All kneel to worship the infant. Though there are no surprises in the text, the illustrations include a few unexpected and charming additions. Mary rides around Bethlehem in a little red wagon; the baby looks a lot like Raggedy Andy; and two shepherds have a tug-of- war struggle over a toy lamb. Mary is an Asian girl, and Joseph is a white boy with red hair and a fake brown beard. One of the wise men is black, and a chorus of angels includes several children of color. The children are dressed in charming costumes with appropriate details, and there are funny little incidents tucked into the illustrations, such as two shepherd girls playing tug of war with a toy sheep and a tiny cow asleep on stage at the conclusion. The girl playing the part of Mary uses a rag doll for baby Jesus, and the final page shows Mary hugging her doll tenderly under the shining star. Fantastic!!

Couldn't put this book down and read it right after book 3. Now I am anxiously waiting for book 5. Very curious...no, extreeeemmmly curious as to what's next for Ryan and Lily! And curious to see how Ryan is going to deal with the loss of Emma. I'm very hopeful that we get some insight on the trio of doom that keep plotting behind Ryan. (Rachel, Candace, Matthew oh and now Jason). I don't trust none of them! Now you know Richard Murray has brought to life some great characters and tells a very intriguing story that you can't help but get caught up in. That's great writing! Truly gifted!

I didn't want this book to end. I have read all 4 books and this one was my favorite. All the books were good. It is written very well and definitely keeps my attention it has Zombies of course and lots of action and I found myself crying at one part. Definitely an awesome read!!!

Questioning science's ability to truly test age, Pilotte theorizes that the Earth is not anywhere near as old as we are led to believe. He rationally questions the teaching of `science' when it is not proven, especially when there are other just as valid theories.
Though based on Creationism, his is not a theological text; it is a wonderful use of the scientific method, asking questions, finding answers, forming theories ... as opposed to the all too often method of creating theories, then seeking out the proof to match. His use of the Bible dove-tails perfectly with use of other ancient texts, giving all a validity often not accepted in scientific circles.
This is a thick book, with few illustrations, and salient points are often repeated to keep them in context with new information. This speeds along the script and keeps it fresh and relevant. All too often in non-fiction texts, I find myself having to go back over and over to understand new points. This is not necessary at all in Earth, Man, & Devolution. That said, this book is vast in scope and I know I will re-read it again and again.
For those of us who have always questioned the mysteries of Man, our existence and history, the unexplained, the unknown, this is the book. Whether one agrees or not with Mr. Pilotte's theories is irrelevant, the trip is fantastic and well worth any price.

Lots of Gems

Once you get past Pilotte's biblical perspective and his self-deprecatory style, there is actually a lot of information in this book. I've been studying this area for 20 years and found many gems here. Makes good bedside reading.

This Book Is A Waste Of Paper

Note to all: Don't waste your hard earned money on this book, even if you find a used one for a dollar. It's not even worth that. This guy wasted years of his life putting this dribble together.

Pilotte is a deluded religious fanatic, one of those fringe groupies who believe the history of man on the earth is only a few thousand years, a "fact" he supports using information gleaned from the bible. This is just the first of many irrational "facts" he takes to be truth and subsequently builds the book around. It would be funny if it wasn't so stupid. I spent a lot of money on this nonsense and I feel ripped off.

I have been using the techniques on BABY MATH to two of my children for a few years now. My three year old loves numbers and can even write 1 – 10 because we have made fun games for her. She and her two year old sister particularly love the simple flash cards we made and bring them out nearly everyday. They call it their “practice” time and when we are done reviewing these cards they run through the house counting other objects like toys, cups, chairs, etc. I know that making these numbers fun for them has given them both this interest. We are now starting to count with our new baby boy and sisters even love to get involved with that. The book and the techniques used in it will be in our family for us to use for years as our children grow.
